I interviewed Guy and Brendan for Tape Op downstairs at this show! -Larry Crane

At some point during this particular concert, Guy admits that Portland is a "pretty cultured town", since the good people of Portland in one single evening have the opportunity and the choice to attend a reading by Brendan's brother Kevin Canty, to go see NoMeansNo at a club across town (La Luna), to go see Elliott Smith at the Satyricon (it seems this concert actually took place a couple of days later, on February 29), or to go see The Need, The Ex and Fugazi.
Those are some wonderful options indeed, but my choice definitely would have been to attend the Fugazi concert and I am sure the people who actually did will wholeheartedly agree.
This show is absolutely stellar and will have you shaking your ass all over the place. The performance is killer, the set list is great and varied (although low on the albums Steady Diet and Repeater), the musical highlights are plenty and the sound quality is top-notch (aside from some issues with the bass during Arpeggiator).
Another fine gem and tremendous addition to the Series. Enjoy!
While I never got to see Fugazi live, I collected as many audience bootlegs as I could over the years. This show was the very first I ever heard, and it was truly a revelation. The audio quality was fairly terrible, though. I'm so glad this was made available. It sounds so much better (not perfect, but so much better than the version I used to have), and it brings back such great memories of discovering how awesome this band really was live. This version of "And the Same" would probably have been my favorite ever, if it wasn't for the band having to stop halfway through to deal with some kid in the audience causing trouble. Gotta love Ian screaming "Turn the air conditioning off!!!!"

Please Note: Available recordings have been mastered to correct for volume shifts, drop outs, etc. but some sonic anomalies will still exist, especially early in the set when the mix is being settled. The band has rated each show for sound quality and set the general price of a download at $5 per show. If you have a different price in mind feel free to utilize the alternative pricing option.
What a great night. It did really empty out after Fugazi played. The Ex were incredible. NoMeansNo came to this after their show! Mostly to visit with Andy Kerr, but hung out with us fans a little bit, too.
