Fugazi back in Florence, at the exact same place they played a legendary show at back in 1995. We get a little jam by Brendan as an intro before Ian welcomes the crowd with his remarks.

First thing to mention is the excellent mix. Place Position has a few digital noises (I think Guy's vox go to red a little), but other than that it's smooth sailin' to fantastic soundboard land. This basically sounds as good, powerful and detailed as an FLS entry gets. Everything has it's place, the stereo field is fully utilized, everything's in balance, etc. So definitely get this if you're looking to enjoy one of the better sounding ones on FLS!

The band is in the middle of the tour and you can feel the confidence in their playing. The songs are performed really well throughout. That being said, it's unfortunate that the set can't get into full flight due to quite a lot of crowd control. People crushed at the front, stage diving - these usual flow killers are present here during the more intense musical moments. Luckily nothing escalates so much that a song would have to be interrupted.

And not to worry because there are those awesome classic moments of organic flow too. One highlight for me is a cool Closed Captioned merging into a strong performance of Recap Modotti. With the help of some well-placed added effects, the ending jam on Captioned sounds especially awesome here. After that, and it always puts a smile on my face, we hear Brendan hit that awesome fill signaling the start of Cassavettes.

Pink Frosty sounds really good on a detailed recording of this level. Ian's voice is in good condition this evening and the band plays the soft dynamics very smoothly. Long Distance Runner is another highlight, and a fine example of this dynamic approach.

The problems with the aforementioned show slowers seem to settle after the difficult first half, and the band treat their audience to a nice, long show. Guy's Target finishes the evening being the highlight of a very danceable encore.

All in all, I recommend this show for the excellent sound quality, and some very cool performances!
