Jerry Busher's percussion work is a touch more audible and detail-rich on this tape to my ears than what I've heard so far. There's a lot of great jamming between Brendan and him, and it made me smile. Arpeggiator is my highlight of these double drum showcases.
This recording is very drum-friendly otherwise too, since the guitars are mostly kind of lumped in the middle of the stereo field with the vocals, and the drum set is mixed wide and powerful. The vocals tend to be a little overpowering for me occasionally when listened to on a stereo. In general this recording works better for me on the headphones. And by the way, you have to turn this up, since the mix is a bit uneven and the volume is quite low. Just crank it, and all is well.
So all in all this is a nice, complete recording of a great show played to a clearly enthusiastic audience. I can recommend this with ease!
Oh, I wonder what is a "group statue?"
Floating Boy is amazing. Fierce vocal from Guy and inspired horn mix.

Please Note: Available recordings have been mastered to correct for volume shifts, drop outs, etc. but some sonic anomalies will still exist, especially early in the set when the mix is being settled. The band has rated each show for sound quality and set the general price of a download at $5 per show. If you have a different price in mind feel free to utilize the alternative pricing option.
Fugazi in beautiful Nantes, towards the end of the 1999 fall European tour. Guy introduces the band in fluent French, while Ian desperately tries to get the lights right. This friendly and funny start for the show is further emphasized as they launch into the biggest smile-inducing Fugazi track in my book - Brendan #1! This usually indicates a real feelgood show coming up and it can be said of this gig too.
Don't be fooled that the good vibes would mean any less rockin' though...nope, actually the band fires away real hard. One such example is a nicely uptempo and brisk Bed For The Scraping. There's not too many bends on the road as the set moves along. Another highlight for me is the flowing trio of Nice New Outfit, And The Same and Recap Modotti.
Oh is still in progress here vocally, and you can hear Guy add some placeholder words here and there. If you want to hear the song's chorus without Joe, but with Ian and Guy, then check this out. It's an interesting listen for sure. Ian's voice is a bit shot when the band hits Reclamation, but it doesn't really take away any of the song's glory.
