Please Note: Available recordings have been mastered to correct for volume shifts, drop outs, etc. but some sonic anomalies will still exist, especially early in the set when the mix is being settled. The band has rated each show for sound quality and set the general price of a download at $5 per show. If you have a different price in mind feel free to utilize the alternative pricing option.
This 1992 recording documents the third out of five times Fugazi played Forte Prenestino in the city of Rome, Italy. See my notes related to the (first) 1988 gig for some more background regarding this particular, quite spectacular venue.
Whereas the previous (1990) Fugazi performance at the venue suffered its share of problems (power outages), their 1992 return turned to be even more taxing.
As per Ian, who gets someone to translate in Italian, “Hey, the rain is already a problem, okay, the power is a problem, okay, all you boys that keep coming up you’re making the problem impossible, so let everybody enjoy this show okay, let everybody enjoy this show please.”
The band merely gets 8 songs in (note that the introductory remarks and beginning of Brendan #1 are even missing) before ending the set early with Waiting Room. Some more words by Ian provide the listener with another glimpse of the unfolding ordeal, “this is for the rain, this could be the last [inaudible] watch your mic Guy, watch your mic [inaudible]”, as he urges the audience to help them out and dedicates the song to “last year, Forte Prenestino.”
However short, this set is still sweet and enjoyable, offering 3 songs off of Repeater, 2 off of Steady Diet of Nothing, and 1 song each off the 7 Songs debut EP, Margin Walker EP and (still to be released) In on the Kill Taker album.
