My favorite of the '87 shows. Probably the best sound quality you can get in this year, although it is still lacking a bit. Classic early performance.I always revisit Furniture and And the Same on this one.
This hometown show appropriately concludes the first series of live performances in 1987, the year Fugazi came into existence. Even though Ian struggles with some notable tuning issues during this particular gig (cf. Merchandise, Suggestion, And The Same) and the band catches Guy off-guard going into Break-In, this definitely is a fun and enjoyable recording, as we find Ian in a jovial, talkative and engaging mood which reflects in the musical interplay and gets picked up on by the audience as well.
The set list features no real surprises, yet it is worth noting that a friend is invited on stage to join the band on the horn during Joe #1, and someone from Nation of Ulysses seems to take the stage as well for what turns out to be a highlight rendering of Waiting Room to conclude the show with a bang.
Overall, the sound quality of this recording is alright, even though I think the vocals are a bit sharp on the ears.

Please Note: Available recordings have been mastered to correct for volume shifts, drop outs, etc. but some sonic anomalies will still exist, especially early in the set when the mix is being settled. The band has rated each show for sound quality and set the general price of a download at $5 per show. If you have a different price in mind feel free to utilize the alternative pricing option.
This is a great early show where you can really feel an intimate energy in the crowd. I enjoy hearing how Ian adapts his stage presence over time, and here it feels like he's sometimes talking to a bunch of his friends rather than a crowd of strangers. I specifically like the sound and energy on Song #1 and Word. Certainly got me moving in my room as if I was really there. It's the best I am going to get.
All in all it was a great show. Definitely worth it.
