This was such an amazing night. Finally, after more than a year of trading phone calls and postcards, I was finally able to book Fugazi at a show in Huntsville. There had been several shows in the past at the Carriage Inn Ballroom, and since the Armory was no longer available for rent, Carriage Inn was the only venue option for a show of this size. When the band decides to release this show, here is a track listing…
1. Introduction
2. Brendan #1
3. Greed
4. Sieve Fisted Find
5. Reclaimation
6. Interlude 1
7. Summertime --> Two Beats Off
8. Styrofoam
9. (Fire Marshall Decision)
10. Margin Walker
11. Waiting Room
12. (End of show announcements)
Note that Guy sang the first verse of George Gershwin’s classic song “Summertime” as a lead in to “Two Beats Off.”
The Fire Marshall shut the show down because the Carriage Inn had not paid for their annual fire permit and inspection. I was threatened with arrest if I didn’t shut the show down. If I hadn’t argued with him, the show would have only been about four songs.
After the show, Fugazi, some of my friends and I went back to my parent’s house. My mother was a private music teacher and had a large collection of instruments from around the world, including an antique piano and an heirloom pump organ. Unfortunately, no one recorded Fugazi playing on those instruments. Now, that is a show I would like to hear again!
P.S. Spin magazine mentioned the Carriage Inn show in the September 1991 issue.
I too was at the show. A friend video taped it but I think it has since gone MIA. Before the set Ian told a story of playing Parcheesi backstage and they started with Brendan #1 (with Ian screaming PAARCHEEESII over the song). The crowd was insane and the floor did in fact feel like it could collapse. They then went into Sieve-Fisted Find. I'm pretty sure they also played Blueprint and the then unreleased Reclamation before the fire marshall came. He let them play two more songs: Margin Walker and Waiting Room.
I was also at this show (with Bruce Turner who posted above). If I remember correctly Fugazi opened with Repeater. So intense... the pit was incredible. Too bad they shut it down early. Still, it's one of the most memorable shows I have ever attended.
When Fugazi returned to Huntsville in '96, I remember Ian mentioning how this show got shut right the fuck down. Looking forward to when both Huntsville performances are posted.
I was at this show. The fire marshal shut it down perhaps 15 minutes into Fugazi's set, if I recall correctly. Would love to hear it.

Please Note: Available recordings have been mastered to correct for volume shifts, drop outs, etc. but some sonic anomalies will still exist, especially early in the set when the mix is being settled. The band has rated each show for sound quality and set the general price of a download at $5 per show. If you have a different price in mind feel free to utilize the alternative pricing option.
It is a pity that this show is cut short because of a fire marshall intervention, since the band seems in a very relaxed and good mood.
Note that the mix only settles (well, more or less) during Reclamation. ..
