Please Note: Available recordings have been mastered to correct for volume shifts, drop outs, etc. but some sonic anomalies will still exist, especially early in the set when the mix is being settled. The band has rated each show for sound quality and set the general price of a download at $5 per show. If you have a different price in mind feel free to utilize the alternative pricing option.
The second and last time Fugazi played the city of Nagoya, having been there before in 1993.
This is an overall strong and enjoyable show and performance, but it grabs me a bit less than the previous two shows in Okayama and Osaka, maybe because this recording sounds slightly muffled (with again a bit of distortion on Ian’s vocals) or because of the general flow and some set list choices.
Birthday Pony and No Surprise make yet another appearance here, and were played at 7 out of 9 shows on this Japanese leg of the 1996 tour.
More interestingly though, this particular performance showcases one-off versions of Exit Only, Last Chance for a Slow Dance (of which only 5 performances in 1996 are currently listed), Burning Too (just 2 listed in 1996) and Break-In (2 listed performances in 1996) in the course of the Japanese leg of the 1996 tour.
Plus, you get an early and rare (only 4 listed in 1996) performance of Break, as well as a rare instrumental version of Floating Boy (8 in total are listed).
Another great and dubby version of Promises that clocks in at 8+ minutes probably is my highlight.
The recording presented here is nearly complete with just a snippet of Five Corporations missing (this version does include a cool prolonged intro) and offers 20 live tracks. Note that the instrumentation and vocals cut out during part of Caustic Acrostic, with the exception of Joe’s bass.
