deny responsibility. you make yourself into a tool, but the forge is never called into question. the eye beholds the reward. you need to be adored. you’re the finish so you’d better look good; from day one this has been your lesson. if this is all you need to be, your conscience is a liability. do you ever doubt this was meant to be? you shine. this kind of polish can be very expensive, but soul is unknown to tools and chrome.
Incredible. I remember both that show and the incident you described. The band stopping mid-song, Guy and Ian leaning over to talk to ...I guess you all...to be sure things were sorted and settled, then the band picking back up again right at the exact spot they left off a few minutes later without missing a beat. It's been enough years later to cloud much of my memory of the specifics of the rest of the gig but it left enough of an impression to be permanently filed away as an "epic, life-changing show".
I attended this show - I was 15 at the time. I loved going to shows at La Luna and was so excited to see Fugazi for the first time there. I went with my boyfriend at the time and we ended up getting kicked out because some stupid drunk guy grabbed me and tried to kiss me, which obviously made my boyfriend mad -who ended up getting into a fight with the guy. Ian and Guy saw the fight and stopped the show and were pretty cool about the situation. We got removed from the floor and had to watch from the side of the stage, and then we got to meet all the Fugazi members backstage after the show. I'll never forget that experience. It was super influential for many reasons that I wont go into here. Anyways, thought I'd share my experience. Thanks to all at Dischord for making these recordings available. Fugazi will live on forever...!xo

Please Note: Available recordings have been mastered to correct for volume shifts, drop outs, etc. but some sonic anomalies will still exist, especially early in the set when the mix is being settled. The band has rated each show for sound quality and set the general price of a download at $5 per show. If you have a different price in mind feel free to utilize the alternative pricing option.
This recording is a bit rough around the edges, but tremendously fun to listen to.
Early on during the show, Ian mentions playing in Anchorage, Alaska on the previous night and notes that "the people in Alaska are seriously ready to throw da fuck down" regardless of who is playing.
The band clearly takes that spirit to heart and delivers a somewhat rushed but passionate and steaming performance on this particular night in Portland, Oregon. The result is the recorded document of a musical night out that pulls out all the stops.
The incident that is referred to in the previous comments occurs right at the onset of Burning (after Bad Mouth). Although the band unfortunately does not resume Burning after the interlude, it is interesting to note that both Fell, Destroyed and Long Division get played instead at this point.. .
