yes this is such a great recording! i drove up from Los Angeles with a van load of friends to see this show. Nation of Ulysses blew our minds with their live performance. Fugazi was great as always. Ian Svenonvious was selling the 12 points album after the show and I still have it and its well worn.

The Nation of Ulysses conjured a kinetic frenzy on stage that electrified me that night.

I remember how stately the setting was, formal and clean - quite a juxtaposition. I felt calmed by the looming domed ceiling, which looked like a giant floating egg.

To Fugazi and the fine folks at Dischord, thank you for manifesting this project and making it accessible to all! I truly appreciate being able to share this art/performance.

From all 1991 live recordings available so far (except for the Winnipeg show that I haven't heard yet), the Oakland bootleg speaks to me the most. Although the audience is a bit low in the mix, this is the best sounding recording for sure. The performance itself is pretty straightforward with most songs being played successively fast; the band does not get caught up in tedious arguments this time around and does not waste a lot of words in general, besides expressing gratitude to the organizers of the show (which proved to be somewhat of a challenge in the area given to all ages policy of the band) and explaining some of the songs. Note the early première of Last Chance for a Slow Dance (the album In on the Kill Taker was only released originally in 1993!). enjoy,

This was my first Fugazi show.

I remember that there was a wedding happening downstairs. The wedding party was taking pictures while those of us waiting to get in gave them a round of applause.

NoU was awesome as well on this night. The BART was packed with n'er-do-wells hustling to get back to The City afterwards. Downloading NOW!

Though it isn't mentioned, I believe poet Richard Loranger also appeared on this bill. Great show!! Glad to be able to obtain this recording. Thanks!
