Electric Cowbell ECR057 Soroche Asesinostalgia

ASESINOSTALGIA, Soroche’s first LP, snakes through miles of different sights, flavors, and influences and is a sonic pilgrimage with stops along the way to pay homage to the gods of cumbia, punk, ska, and whatever other psychedelic altars the band encounters.

The album’s 10 songs range in themes from working-class existentialism (“Espera”) and sacrifice (“Bala Perdida”) to immigration (“El Desierto”) and cultural identity (“Leyenda”), all against a backdrop of reverb-drenched guitars, Farfisa, accordion, Colombian percussion, and even theremin.

Featuring guest artists including D.C.’s all-female cumbia group La Marvela, Colombian singer-songwriter Laura Luv, Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning bassist Miguel Torres, and Gogol Bordello’s Pedro Erazo.

Release date October 9, 2026.
